We understand, it can be frustrating when we can't accept certain items. It's hard to hear "NO Thank You" to a donation. It's even harder for us to say "Sorry, we can't accept your donation". However, there are various reasons why we can't take certain materials.

  • Some materials do not meet standards issued by the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission. In some cases, breaking the rules can result in costly fines
  • Others cost more to clean, repair or refurbish before they can be sold.
  • At times we may not be able to take certain items even though they appear on our accepted list due to space constraints.
  • It can be overwhelming, expensive and wasteful to process donations of random items we can't use. We have limited number of people sorting donations. We must manage our personnel wisely.

Packing Materials

Usually, when people donate materials, they simply dump everything into large garbage bags. Large organizations have hundreds of staff members designated to sort all the miscellaneous items. Teacher 2 Teacher is a small organization with limited staff. So please, help us out by pre-sorting and boxing your items for donation.
